Cheeky chairs

The green aluminum seats that beckon visitors to rest in Paris' public gardens seem to have a personality of their own. A modern reinterpretation of the original chairs created in the 1920s for the Jardin du Luxembourg, the designs are by Frédéric Sofia and are available through Fermob.

(The lazy, low-slung armchair is especially tempting.) (Do you think people ever steal them?) (I mean, I am NOT implying that I would ever do such a thing.) (But I do want to point out that I have a really big suitcase and I am AMAZING when it comes to packing a bag. Like, AMAZING.)

8 Chairs Spotted on the Boerum Hill House Tour

Boy oh boy, do I love how an official neighborhood house tour lets you take a look at how the folks around you live. (You know, as opposed to all those unofficial sneak peeks one may take in an open window or open door as you casually pass by. Not that I would ever DO that. You know, officially.)

Sunday, I got the chance to step inside a few of the homes near me in the Boerum Hill House and Garden Tour. I always find it fascinating to see digs in Brooklyn, especially since we tend to have spaces that are tall and narrow (brownstone living and all). I didn't have the right camera lenses on me to get pics of the rooms in each home overall, but I did take several of the chairs that I discovered. (Because who doesn't love a great chair?) Here are a few that I spied--heavy emphasis on the mid-century modern.

Details from the BOFFO Show House

I had a chance to stop by the BOFFO Show House over the long weekend. Get a little glimpse, then get info here on the artistic collaboration, on display on the Lower East Side of Manhattan until June 4. (Inspiring stuff! Especially glad to see pieces from UM Project and Ghiora Aharoni.)

The Herman Miller Pop-Up Shop

If you'll be in New York City anytime from this week through July 1, you totally need to check out the Herman Miller Pop-Up Shop in Soho. The space is gorgeous, plus they've got tons of you-need-them-now home and office accessories for sale. (No joke. I know I'm biased, but whomever curated the items was pretty genius--it's PACKED with good stuff. My credit card is achin' already.)
