Shanghai in Slow Motion
In a few parks in Shanghai, I came upon several groups of people practicing tai chi, wushu, and other elegant martial arts-type exercises. It was beautiful and quiet and sort of fierce all at once. My favorite person to watch was the young woman in the first few pictures taking instruction from an older, white-headed wushu teacher. And that is because she was patient, skillful, cool-headed, and graceful--all while wearing bright-red Chuck Taylors.

So great. In front of my daughter's school, there's always a large group of Asian women practicing Tai chi in the mornings, while the older men socialize by playing Mahjong. I attempted to take a photo but I got yelled at "you don't take photo here!". I guess I made a mistake by disturbing the flow :^)
All of your photos from China have been wonderful. Not only did you visit the country, you saw the country with all of its amazing detail.
Thanks, Kay-Kay! That means a lot coming from a real-deal photographer...
